Connecting You to Great Lawyers in New York State
It takes a great deal of time and effort to qualify a Hometown Lawyer. We want to make sure you have at least two options, because having a comfortable relationship with your lawyer is important. We qualify lawyers in a limited number of categories to ensure we can offer highly-qualified options. We expect to expand the practice area options as we grow, and as demand warrants. If there is an area of law you would like us to consider, please let us know! We’re here to help you.
Often, lawyers will cover a broad geographic area – many courts covering many towns or counties. A qualified Hometown Lawyer may choose to cover several adjacent geographic areas, as long as they are capable of maintaining our standards.
We are growing, and always interested in meeting bright, dedicated and experienced lawyers. Please visit our Lawyers’ Information Page.
No,  we receive no additional compensation based upon the fees collected by our featured lawyers.
Investigating and qualifying each attorney, in person, takes considerable time and resources. Once we have determined that a lawyer is qualified to be a Hometown Lawyer,  we charge each lawyer a monthly fee to be featured on our site. We provide you with free customer service, including a toll-free phone number, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week … because emergencies happen on nights and weekends!
We interview each lawyer, in person, at their offices.  Each potential Hometown Lawyer completes an extensive questionnaire, and then our attorneys and experts investigate their credentials, their experience and their reputation, to ensure we only feature high-quality, professional lawyers, dedicated to their clients. We are very selective; not every lawyer can be a Hometown Lawyer, and once you become a Hometown Lawyer, you must continue to meet our standards to remain a Hometown Lawyer.
We exist to connect the public with great lawyers in their geographic area. Whether you need a lawyer immediately, or are looking ahead, we’re here to help. We are not a law firm.  The lawyers we feature do not work for us, and we do not split fees or commissions with them.  You and whichever lawyer you choose will discuss their fees directly. There is no obligation to retain any of our lawyers.  We provide a free introduction to highly-skilled lawyers.
No. Contacting a lawyer through Hometown Lawyers is free. You can discuss the attorney’s fees with him or her when you connect.
No. We are only making an introduction. You have to be comfortable with the person who will help you through a difficult period. That decision is entirely up to you. If you decide to use another lawyer, you are free to do so.
We meet with every potential Hometown Lawyer™ in person and subject them to an attorney-led qualification process. We feature only those lawyers who meet our strict criteria. Other sites will advertise any and every lawyer who is willing to pay to be listed on their site, and the results you get amount to little more than a laundry list of every lawyer within a radius of a few miles that claims to have the experience you need. We call these guys “aggregators”, sites that just provide indiscriminate lists of names, like a glorified phone book. We have helped more than 15,000 people, just like you, find great lawyers. Our team includes experienced client advocates and lawyers whose mission is to find you exceptional legal representation. Please visit the About Us page for more information.
